What is the Metaverse? In what direction is the technology developing and what standards should be set in advance?
In line with our last episode on augmented reality, today we’re talking about virtual reality, more specifically the metaverse. Current surveys show that many people are still unsure how to define the term and what it actually means. That’s why we spoke to someone who can do it much better than us. Simon Leibiger is Senior Expert IT Strategy & Innovation at Vodafone and knows what opportunities the Metaverse has in store. Still, he says it’s still in the discovery phase and telecommunications companies like Vodafone are currently delivering and expanding the necessary infrastructure for the future.
We learned a lot from talking to Simon, and for anyone who isn’t sure what Metaverse means concretely, we can only recommend that you listen to the episode and listen to Simon’s expertise.
We would also like to thank the sponsor of the current episode, Swappie:
Swappie is the destination for buying and selling refurbished iPhones. At Swappie you get iPhones that work like new and have been tested by professionals for a low price. Swappie refurbished its iPhones in its own workshop, this is examined in 52 steps under the highest test criteria and there is always a 36-month warranty on the iPhones – more than 1 million customers already rely on Swappie. And the best thing is, you save the environment at the same time!
Lots of fun!

TECH changer
For Simon, unlike many others, the technological revolutions are not to be found at work or in his spare time in general, but he appreciates the little things in life; Therefore, the electric toothbrush was a highlight for him especially in his youth, as he described himself as a “lazy tooth brusher”, which saved him a lot of time and effort.
