AC Milan are at risk of going into the Empoli game after the international break with a depleted squad, according to a report.
Corriere dello Sport (via MilanNews) reports that Theo Hernandez, Davide Calabria, Sandro Tonali and Mike Maignan have all reported problems in recent days, something which is not good news Stefano Pioli ahead of a vital stretch of games.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Alessandro Florenzi are also long-term absentees while Ante Rebic and Divock Origi are currently not ready to play again just yet, and while all the situations are different the aim is to have everyone (bar Ibra and Florenzi) back to face Chelsea .
First though there is a game against Empoli which could be a tricky trip. Both Rebic and Calabria are training at Milanello following a personalized work routine that can help them get back to their best condition.
For Calabria the Empoli game is in sight and he could also be used on the left side as a substitute for Theo Hernandez, while for the Croatian the next few days will be decisive but his presence would allow an alternative to both Giroud and Leao.
For both Theo and Tonali, however, the Empoli match seems a little more difficult and the goal is to try to recover them for the away match in London against Chelsea. The French full-back is following therapy at Milanello to recover from a slight strain, while the Italian midfielder is expected to return to Milanello in the next few days.
Mike Maignan will also be back at the training center soon and news on his condition is expected the day after the medical examinations he has undergone in France.
