As part of a study by the Federal Association of the Digital Economy (BVDW), more than 100 executives of digital companies and service providers were questioned about the development of the Metaverse between the end of June and mid-July 2022. This is according to an article in the media magazine Media.
According to this answer, 82 percent of those surveyed responded that they see great opportunities for the metaverse, especially in the fashion industry. The apparel industry already works closely with the entertainment industry, the company said. We’re talking fashion shows in the metaverse and virtual designer clothes for avatars or video game main characters to create new experiences for users.
According to the report, the marketing/PR and e-commerce sectors (87 percent) are expected to experience the fastest development in the new digital reality. Regarding the investment ambitions of the surveyed managers in the Metaverse area, the following result emerges: One third of the respondents (35 percent) want to invest in the sector in the next two years. Another third (34 percent) said they hadn’t made a decision yet. According to the report, 26 percent of those surveyed have no plans to invest in the virtual parallel world.
However, in order to develop this potential, the labor market in Germany must be prepared accordingly, it is also said. Above all, it is important to prepare the next generation for future technologies.
Gaming and NFTs under criticism
