More drama coming from the Royal Family as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle had to find out they were uninvited to the pre-funeral event for world leaders at Buckingham Palace. Reports from the press reached the couple before the family could let them know they weren’t attending the Saturday event.
UK’s The Telegraph were the first ones to report the news, the reason for this decision was initially unknown. There is also no knowledge of who made this decision, but evidence suggests that King Charles III was convinced to uninvite them by members of the Royal Family’s staff. After the news took both Harry and Meghan by surprise, they were later informed that only working British royals are welcome to this event.
You see, being an active member of the Royal Family is more a job than a privilege Prince Harry gave up on that responsibility when he decided to move to the United States with Meghan Markle. His decision has always been criticized by media outlets and British people who believe in the Royal Family alike.
There is even a petition in Sussex that demands for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s titles to be removed. Since they aren’t working members of the Royal Family, the staff could easily present a strong case to the King that they weren’t welcome in such an official event. In their view, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are now celebrities and not really royalty.

King Charles III’s concept of ‘The Firm’
Here’s where a concept known as ‘The Firm‘ becomes more relevant, one that King Charles III has been pushing for years. It has been known for a long time that the king has strong views on scaling back the monarchy. To the king, only a shortlist of senior royals whom he often calls ‘The Firm’ should benefit from the monarchy’s privileges.
These members are Queen Cosort Camilla, Prince William, Princess Catherine, Prince Edawrd (the queen’s third son), his wife Sophie, and Princess Anne, the queen’s daughter. Any other royal who isn’t part of this list, is not going to benefit from any major privilege that comes with being an active member of the Royal family. This obviously leaves Prince Harry and Meghan Markle out of the equation.
